Perfect Flow #7: How to Win Coast to Coast with Sam Clark

  • by

In this episode of the Perfect Flow Podcast I talk with Sam Clark, 3 times Coast to Coast champion about his journey in multisport and running. Sam emerged from the Whakatane triathlon scene and worked his way up the ranks to the pinnacle of multisport in New Zealand. His passion and determination are second to none and it’s a pleasure to share his valuable insights into overcoming challenges in training and how to get the most out of yourself on race day.

Perfect Flow #6: Bants with K Day

  • by

In this episode of the Perfect Flow Podcast I banter with running nut Kristian Day, or K Day for short. Kristian and I got into trail running around the same time as teenagers, him from a road running background and I from orienteering. We caught up casually when I was in Wellington recently and shared some yarns over our love of running as a discipline and as a community. Initially, this was more of a “why not?” recording because Kristian is just a such a good dude. But, in hind sight, hearing the ups, downs, insights and philosophies of a mere mortal (sorry bro) brings a different, and complementary, sense of relevance than I get from an international super star. We spend so much time trying to copy the best that we might be missing some learning opportunities closer to home.

Perfect Flow #3: Pain, Stress and Fascia with Luke McCallum

  • by

In my 3rd episode of the Perfect Flow Podcast I talk with massage therapist Luke McCallum about pain, stress, fascia and how thinking holistically about the body suggest different responses to pains and sensations than you might first think. I have been a client and friend of Luke’s for some time and I find his approach to be very illuminating. His perspective as a runner and sensitivities as a therapist combine to something special. He works in Auckland at Sports Lab, but is currently working his magic in Kenya with 2 of New Zealand tops distance runners.
